Here in the United States, 68% of households own at least one pet. For many these little guys truly feel like a part of the family! It’s therefore no surprise that some couples want their animals to take part in every aspect of their lives — including their wedding day. Here are a few ways you can include your doggo, kitty, or other animal in your wedding festivities.

Add Your Pet To Your Decor

Your wedding is a day to celebrate you, your future spouse, and everything you both love. So, why shouldn’t your pets be a part of it? If your venue doesn’t allow animals, consider paying homage to your fur babies with your decor. A few photos at the welcome table or a custom cake topper featuring your pet is a great way to celebrate your whole happy family.

Dress Them Up for a Photoshoot

Let’s say you want your pet to be a bit more present for your special day. Another great way to include them is to have them pose for your wedding photos! Make sure your photographer is comfortable working with animals, then grab a leash and bring your little buddy front and center! You can even talk to other vendors about dressing him up for the occasion. For example, your florist could make an adorable floral collar for him to wear!

Put Him in The Wedding Party

Some couples feel so close to their pets that they couldn’t imagine getting married without that pet by their side. If you feel that way, make sure your pet has a front-row seat to your nuptials by putting him in the wedding party! Let your pet act as ring bearer or flower girl, or have him escort the bride down the aisle! This is a fun, silly way to make sure your entire family — even the non-human members — is present for your special day.
