Most brides put a lot of effort into their wedding day look. They try on a thousand dresses, spend hours on their hair and makeup, and put tons of thought into choosing the perfect accessories.
Even if your future husband is not the most fashion-forward guy, he should still take special care to look his best on the big day. Here are a few tips to help grooms everywhere find their perfect look.
Fit Matters
A well-fitting suit is about much more than getting the proper pant size. Look for suits that are cut to suit your body type; for example, men with large, broader frames look great in wide lapels, while slim guys look best in a suit with a more narrow silhouette.
Choose Your Fabrics Carefully
You’re going to be wearing this suit for quite a while on your wedding day, so it’s important that you choose a fabric that’s suitable for the season. If you’re tying the knot in fall or winter, keep warm in a wool suit. In the spring and summer, look for breathable fabrics like linen. Trust me, this seemingly “minor” detail will make a major difference on the day!
Coordinate with Your Bride
You may have been with your sweetheart for years. However, your wedding day is the first time you’ll officially appear as a married couple. This means you need to be in sync, right down to your fashion choices! Obviously, you don’t have to coordinate exactly with your bride (unless you both plan to wear white gowns
Coordinate with Your Boys
While coordinating with the bride is about matching in spirit, coordinating with your groomsmen is about matching in reality. Find ways to connect all your suits, such as a matching tie or pocket square. This will give you all a cohesive look with all your buddies while still allowing everyone to get the suit that flatters them best.
Be Fashionable, but Be Yourself
This is probably the most important tip I can give any groom: make sure the suit you choose is one that makes you feel great! If you wear something that feels like you, you’ll be able to enjoy your special day even more.
