If there’s one thing every bride looks forward to on her wedding day (besides marrying the love of her life, of course), it’s her grand entrance. The moment when she walks down that aisle in her beautiful dress and takes everyone’s breath away. But these days, many brides agree that one entrance is not enough. On top of that goosebumps-inducing moment during the wedding ceremony, these ladies want to wow their guests at the reception, too! The solution? A whole new reception look.
Some brides achieve this by buying a second dress for their reception… but what can you do if there’s no time to change (or no room in the budget for gown #2)? Don’t worry! There are many other ways to revamp your look for the reception — and here are a few of my favorites!
Change Your Accessories
Your wedding reception is often the more laid back, fun-filled portion of the evening. Therefore it’s a great opportunity to add a more playful vibe to your look! How do you do this without a second dress? Simple — it’s all in the accessories.
Swap out your veil for something fun and youthful, like a floral fascinator or flower crown. Add a pop of color to your jewelry. If you’re not up for wearing heels on the dance floor all night, grab a pair of your most comfy shoes and slip them on! These small changes will make a world of difference in your overall look.
Change Your Makeup
Many brides keep their makeup subtle, feminine, and natural for their wedding day. This is fine for a “serious” occasion like a wedding ceremony. However, once the reception starts it’s ok to glam it up!
If your makeup artist is still on hand after the ceremony, ask her to dress up your look before you enter the reception hall. A little glitter on the eyes, some red lipstick, and tousled waves in your hair will turn your look from bridal beauty to gorgeous party girl!
As you can see, these changes are simple and subtle — but they’re significant enough to have everyone awestruck once you enter the reception!
