It’s a new year (a new decade, even) and we all know what that means! A whole new crop of exciting and beautiful wedding trends are coming our way! The 2020s are already proving to have some of my favorite wedding themes, color palettes, and fashion styles. Here are my top five faves:

Bold Color Palettes

This year, weddings are going to be bold and bright — literally. Wedding planners everywhere are getting requests for vivid color palettes that feature mixed prints, unique textures, and bright hues we haven’t seen before. If you want to use hot pink or electric purple in your wedding, 2020 is the year to do it!

All-White Weddings

Bright colors not your thing? That’s ok, there’s a wedding trend for you, too! On the other side of the color spectrum, some couples are opting to design their weddings in purely neutral shades. This would be creamy palettes like off-white, beige, and gray. This color palette is a great choice for any couple that wants to have a wedding with a rustic and earthy vibe.

Minimalist Gowns

Blame it on the 90s babies who are getting nostalgic as they plan their big days. Blame it on Meghan Markle and the stunning look she wore at her wedding two years ago. Whoever is responsible, the fact remains that minimalism is in for 2020 wedding gowns. Instead of those poofy princess dresses, brides are opting for sleek, simple silhouettes as they walk down the aisle.

Statement Veils

While wedding gowns are becoming more simple, veils are becoming more extravagant. Whether you wear a supersized veil or one with an embroidered message (think of Hailey Bieber’s “Till Death Do Us Part” embroidery), your veil is bound to make a truly beautiful statement.

Sustainable Ceremonies

Concerns about the environment continue to grow every day. Therefore more and more couples are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint on their wedding day. This can take many forms. For example, recycled paper invitations, local and seasonal flowers and foods, or even a rented or recycled gown! Whatever your wedding theme may be, this is one trend that’s easy to include.
