Summer weddings may not be very popular in Austin, but they are still an option. If you are a bride and if you love sunlight (and lots of it!), the idea of a summer wedding may appeal to you. Yet, how do you choose a bridal bouquet that will stay fresh throughout the warmest day of summer? What are the types of flowers most suitable for a summer wedding?

We have some tips for you – read on and find out more.

  • Anything in the Ranunculus family is a good choice. Although very common at weddings, these flowers (e.g. anemones) are quite heat-resistant. They are delicate and sweet, they look amazing in a wide range of wedding themes and styles, and they come in a generous range of colors too. These blooms are virtually impossible not to love!
  • Garden roses. Looking for some classy, romantic, and really feminine flowers? You’d be surprised, but garden roses tend to do quite well in high temperatures. They might not be as heat-resistant as flowers that naturally grow on exotic lands – but they’re close to home, they look amazing, they come in a variety of colors, and they are truly romantic in every way possible. Add all these qualities to the fact that these flowers are OK with higher temperatures, and you’ve got a great option for your summer wedding!
  • If you want to include a really exotic flower in your bridal bouquet, but don’t want to move too far away from home, hibiscus is what you are looking for. The national flower of Hawaii, hibiscus is bound to resist in higher temperatures – and it looks amazing, especially when you combine it with different types of greenery. This flower will surely make a statement.
  • Not flowers. You don’t have to hold an actual flowers bouquet when you walk down the aisle. Succulents are an amazing choice both for their heat resistance and for their unique looks. Greenery bouquets can also look amazing. And there are so many herbs and plants that look amazing and can actually be combined in stunning bouquets!
