Before you book a wedding vendor, be they a caterer, a DJ, or a makeup artist, you’re going to ask them a few questions. The most common is What is your rate? and Are you available on [insert wedding date here], but that’s not all you need to know. In fact, the need-to-know questions vary from one vendor to another — and today, I’ll tell you some of the most important questions you could ask your florist.
“Which Flowers Will Be In Season for My Wedding?”
There are multiple reasons to ask your florist about seasonal flowers. Firstly, it’ll prove that she knows her stuff! But finding out which flowers are in season is also a great way to get inspiration for your floral arrangements. Sure, everyone would love an extravagant bouquet with jade vines and winter roses, but if you’re getting married in the summer (and outside of the Philippines), this is pretty unlikely. This question is the first step in your florist guiding you to the right blossoms.
“Have You Worked with My Venue Before?”
This question isn’t a dealbreaker, especially with close to 5,000 venues in the Austin/Hill Country metroplex. However, it can help shape your decision when choosing between two florists. Some venues have very specific rules for bringing flowers into their space (particularly venues with their own garden on-site). If your florist is already familiar with your venue’s rules and requirements, you’ll have a much easier time setting up for your big day!
“How Late Can I Make Changes to Arrangements?”
You might think you have every last detail of your wedding planned in your mind. But here’s the truth: things are very likely to change. You might fall in love with a piece of decor that changes your whole color palette. Or, you might lose a bridesmaid and have to cut back on bouquets. It’s important that you know how flexible your florist can be, so you’re both ready to make adjustments if necessary.
If you ask the florists you meet these questions right away, you’ll have an easier time finding the one that can help bring your dream wedding to life!
