Meet Katie, Bailey Rose Design

Katie Lathrop has always loved the art of handwriting and calligraphy. So, she decided to open her shop with the hope that she can help spread joy through lettering.

Her company, Bailey Rose Design, is named after Bailey, her corgi puppy. Bailey is named after Bailey’s Irish Cream and is the most adorable and loving pup in the world. She is Katie’s little assistant that sits at her feet while she works.

Katie loves writing on all the things, including canvas, wood, and acrylic options for sign mediums. She loves to create something unique, special, and wonderful for her customers’ home or event. She especially loves designing little touches like invitations, signage, and name cards to match the couple’s vision for their special day.

Meet Lisa, Lily Grace Catering

Lisa has worked in the catering business for nearly 20 years. She started in hotels and most recently as Catering Director for a local BBQ restaurant. She catered her first wedding in a hotel in Colorado and decided then that weddings were her favorite. Since moving to Austin and working with brides at different venues her love of the industry has grown.

Lisa takes great pride in each event she helps to plan and treats each bride, groom or event host as if they had been friends for years.

Meet Jenna, Creatrix Photography

Jenna Avery is the owner and head photographer at Creatrix which means “creative femme” in Latin. She started her business in 2011 and is passionate about her clients, almost to a fault. After years of searching, she found her niche: authentic folk who just want an amazing love party. She doesn’t care how big or small the wedding is, only celebrating our happy existence on this rotating rock called Earth.

She genuinely wants to get to know her clients. So seriously, if you’re looking for an employee that you only speak to on the wedding day, please get to steppin’ cause it’s not a good fit. Give her your weird, your quirky, your outlandishness. She wants to connect. She wants to create some epic sh*t together. Jenna is based in Austin, but is available for travel.

Kate, owner of See Kate Create and Silk and Glow

Kate Kubala has an avid passion for a creative and artistic basis as connection and influence to each individual. She discovered the beauty industry after obtaining her cosmetology license 9 years ago as something that involves constant growth, art, and positive energy. As a beauty enthusiast specializing in tailored updos and luxury bridal work with airbrush and celebrity training leading to IMDB credits through film, she keeps her skills modern and her mind open to an all encompassing positive experience in the art of hair and makeup! The ultimate goal is to make the experience about YOU and your uniqueness, and complete the most ideal, unblemished imagined outcome possible.

Meet Tammy, Hill Country Cakery

Lakeway’s only boutique bakery, Hill Country Cakery makes fun and delicious cakes for weddings and special occasions. Owner Tammy Waxler grew up in Houston baking with her Grandma Alma and Aunt Theresia. After graduating from Culinary Institute LeNotre in 2007, she worked briefly at Houston Country Club.

Tammy and her family relocated to Lakeway in 2009 and began focusing on celebration-style cakes rather than French pastry. In her custom cakes and sweets, she uses simple, local ingredients and often incorporates her Grandma and Aunt’s recipes, with her own twist. She loves the challenge of teaching herself new techniques and some would call her a workaholic.

Many wedding cakes couples have have reached out a year later when they are throwing a baby shower, then again for a first birthday, and so on. She loves the relationships she creates with her clients. When she’s not baking, she enjoys family time with her husband, three boys, and dogs (Maggie and Greta).

Meet Jennie, J. Bennett Gems

A full time jewelry artist since 1996, Jennie Bennett has been selling online and at art markets, art shows and renaissance festivals all over Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wisconsin. She grew up drawing and making art projects with whatever was handy. She has taken jewelry classes from Austin Community College, artist Rita Marie Ross and Creative Side Jewelry Academy. She is also a singer/songwriter and has performed for many years solo and in several bands.

She designs jewelry to accent personal style for every day wear, making everything in her studio in Austin. It’s important to her to make heirloom quality jewelry, while keeping it affordable. She’s always been a detail person and takes care that each finished piece is something she’s proud to wear as well as sell in her store.
